How Do Robert Bentley and Parker Griffith Compare?

From Campaign 2014 –Â It appears that Governor Robert Bentley and Democrat Parker Griffith will face off in the governor’s race in November.
On Alabama News Network’s Talk back show, Governor Robert Bentley outlined how he plans to win the gubernatorial race again, voicing his opinions on hot topics like gay marriage…
“I personally believe in marriage between a man and a woman,” Bentley says. “I don’t know what will happen as far as judges are concerned but whatever the laws are, my job is to uphold those law.”
Experts say Parker Griffith is likely to get the democratic nomination for governor. He actually has similar views on this issue.
“I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman and I’m not for gay marriage,” he says.
Griffith says he is, however, for expanding Medicaid. He rolled out his expansion plan Thursday morning at the Capitol steps.
“It will create 30,700 jobs and we believe it will make a huge difference not only in the health of our citizens but also in the economy of our citizens.”
But Bentley says he’s against expanding the program.
“I’m opposed to expanding Medicaid because it’s Obamacare. The problem with it is we have a broken system right now in this state, we can’t expand that.”
Alabama is just one of few states with no lottery or legalized gambling. Bentley says while he won’t push for a lottery, he would let the people vote on it.
“I trust the people of Alabama,” he says. “If the legislature passes this, I am not opposed to them being able to vote on it.”
And Griffith says he fully supports the lottery for education.
“We’re educating Tennesse’s children, Georgia’s children, Mississippi’s children, and Florida’s children. If we continue to do that, they are going to have an educated workforce and we’re not.”
