Alabama News Network’s news director Jack Pagano shares his experience as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

Pagano served as a contractor in Afghanistan from 2007-2013. In that time, he helped establish a news and communications infrastructure for the country. Pagano says in 2001, Afghanistan had only one TV and one radio station, which the Taliban controlled. Today, he says there are 50 TV stations and 190 radio stations.

Pagano shared a video tribute to World War II veterans that he produced. He also described a very close call he experienced in 2008 that could have ended tragically for him.
