Boy Dies after Fall from Escalator in Mall Store

A hospital spokeswoman says an 11-year-old boy who fell from an escalator inside a store in south Alabama has died.

University of South Alabama Hospitals spokeswoman Jennifer Ekman tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/1kQPwdh) that Jakobe Kirksey died Tuesday.

Mobile Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer Steve Huffman said the boy fell from the top of an escalator on the second floor of a store in the Bel Air Mall in Mobile on Sunday afternoon.
