Sheriff: Guns, Meth Recovered After Manhunt

Pike County authorities say they found multiple guns and makings for a meth lab after an hour long manhunt Wednesday.

Donaldson allegedly pointed a gun at an investigator then fled before being arrested.

Investigators say they pulled multiple guns, chainsaws, tools and other items from his trailer and shed in southern Pike County near County Road 3310.

A lot of the items are believed to have been stolen.

They say the suspect also had a meth lab.

Lieutenant Bob Williamson was able to convince Donaldson to drop his gun and not shoot.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said, “Bob is as good a narcotic agent as there is in the state of Alabama. And his years of experience, his years of knowledge and his ability to be able to remain calm is I believe the reason that Bob is alive today and the good lord, and the help of the good lord he had his arms around Bob.”

Donaldson is being held in Pike County jail on $81,000 bond.

He’s been charged with manufacturing met, reckless endangerment, and receiving stolen property.
