20-year-old Arrested For Shooting at Pike Co. Homes

A 20-year-old is behind bars after allegedly firing shots at Pike County homes on Christmas Eve.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas says John Sanders was arrested after firing nearly a dozen times at two homes in the Stills Crossroads area.
The sheriff says it happened just before 7 in the morning Christmas Eve, when two families in their homes were woken up by gunfire.
One bullet passed through a window narrowly missing someone asleep in bed. Investigators say they later linked Sanders to the crime. And they say he confessed.
Sgt. Henry Wentland, Pike Co. Sheriff’s Office said, “a bullet shooting into your house, you can’t call that bullet back. Laying in your bed and someone shoots a hole through your window, that’s dangerous when your families at home and your children are at home. Christmas holiday- it could have been a lot worse.”
Sanders was out on bond from an assault charge in Bullock County, involving someone in one of the homes shot at. He’s being held in Pike County jail on $50,000 bond.
