After five homicides in six days, black women in leadership came together Thursday night to come up with some solutions to the violence.

The ladies met one day after the men’s leadership group at the Connecting Life Center.
They discussed what they believe is needed in their communities, including nurturing the youth and being mentors.

“Even though if the person is doing wrong, if you let your light shine and reel them in there, oh you can teach them. Oh they can be teachable. That’s what we need to do. We have to be real in what we do and real in what we say,” said Educator Betty Ann Palmer.

And they welcome anyone of all denominations and races to come help assist them as they make efforts to take back their communities.
