Inaugural Dance Battle Raises Awareness Against Violence

McKee Middle School helped raise awareness against violence in the inaugural Battle Against Violence.
The event included dance teams from across the city, door prizes for students preparing for the new school year. Guest speakers spoke out with ways to reduce and prevent senseless crimes in Montgomery. The families of violent crime victims were also honored at the event.
“Be aware of when you commit a crime and take a family member,” says event organizer Shaneika Crawford. “It hurts the family and the community. Just stop the violence and get everyone to love one another.”
