LPGA Tournament Expected to Boost Prattville Economy

The final round of the Yokohama Tire LPGA Tournament wrapped up today in Prattville. Today’s round boasted the largest crowd over the four-day tournament, with some fans traveling all the way from China to see this year’s match.

The tournament brought in about 40,000 fans, and officials expect a boost in the local economy.

“The impact for the week is amazing,” says tournament director Jonathan Romeo. “You know when I come in, we are here two weeks and restaurants normally don’t have a wait. Then now when you go into a restaurant, they’re all busy, you notice the traffic, hotels are full. It’s a great thing.”
