The Labor Day weekend is coming up and AAA is predicting more cars on the roadways this year.

One of the reasons is the lower gas prices.

According to AAA, the state average for a gallon of regular gas is $2.06. But there are places in the state well below the $2 mark.

Spokesperson Clay Ingram says he believes the trend will continue into the fall.

“Demand will decrease between now and the end of January. Typically prices go down in the fall and I expect that to follow suit this year as well,” said Ingram.

If you are traveling this weekend for vacation or a football game, Ingram says to be sure to leave plenty of time to get to your destination.
