Victim’s Name Released in Fatal Accident on I-85

Alabama State Troopers have released the name of the person killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on I-85.
State troopers say 73-year-old Hwajin Kane of Buford, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was killed in a three-car crash at mile marker 18, near the Montgomery/Macon county line on I-85 southbound Friday afternoon.
Investigators say he and two other people were changing a tire on the side of the interstate when Kane was struck by a Ford Mustang after it collided with a Subaru. The Mustang left the roadway, struck a disabled Kia Sedona minivan and three pedestrians, including Kane. The two remaining pedestrians were transported from the scene with serious injuries.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
