It was a tough game to watch for most Auburn fans. The Tigers narrowly missed defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks. It was a game most fans weren’t happy about.
Auburn fan Tom Johnson gave us a recap of what he was not happy with, saying “You can’t let a second tier college team come into your home stadium and manhandle you the way they did us. Jeremy Johnson has been having his share of problems, his having his share of issues. You know, he doesn’t like the Auburn Blue and the Auburn White because he likes to throw to the opposite colored jersey and that’s really giving us a hard time. You can only have so many turnovers and still be in the game, and we were lucky we won the game.
But there are a few fans who hope this game will lead the team to a better season, one fan remarked “I just really feel like Auburn’s gonna come out on top because, like I said as long as that offense gets stronger, I think we’re going to have a really good season.”
A JSU fan thinks it not only benefts his Gamecocks, but helps the Tigers too. Brett Johnson says the game was a win-win for both teams, saying Auburn “learned early a lot of flaws that they had. In their game plan, in their strategies. And I think that for a team as big as Auburn it’s good to learn those mistakes early on.”
Overall, the Tigers are happy they are still 2-0 in the season and looking forward to getting a chance to redeem themselves at their next game.
