River Region United Way Raises Millions For People In Need

United Way took time to say thank you to the people who helped make 2015 a year that helped make a difference to people across the River Region.

The non-profit raised more than $4.7 million in 2015 though several campaigns held throughout the year. The money went to hundreds of thousands of families and communities in need. United Way organizers say the outpouring of community support is overwhelming.

“Our community has really shown up to support our agencies and really to show up and support what we’ve done. We cant do it without out thousands of donors we have in the five counties that we serve, and more than anything we just thank them for everything they’ve done,” said Alicia Schneider, Vice President of Resource Development for River Region United Way.

River Region United way helps 140,000 people in five counties in Alabama.
