You’d never know by just hearing them talk or play that brothers Matthew and Jackson Horne battle a very serious bone disease.
But the many surgeries and fractures have left the boys with physical challenges.

“I’ve been having problems with my legs making it hard for me to walk and how this leg is shorter than the other,” said 12 year old Matthew.

Eight year old Jackson was in a body cast when we last visited the Horne family a year and half ago.
Now he is in a wheelchair with a broken leg.
Not only that, the rods in his legs are coming apart causing his leg to bow and making it difficult for him to stand.

“It hurts,” said Jackson.

As you may imagine, even with insurance, the medical bills the Hornes face are overwhelming.

“You can only pay so much. As soon as I got done paying this one debt, they are like ‘oh, hey, these two others were sent in…’ And you’re like there’s 20 dollars a month,” said the boys’ dad, Allen.

But now that the Hornes have a chance to see a well known specialist. They feel this is the hope they need for a better life for their family.

“I hope that he would fix the disease that I have,” said Jackson.

“I just wish he could fix my legs and just make them even where I can walk and run like a normal person,” said Matthew.

For their mom, Lisa, it’s about allowing her boys freedom.

“My hope is that he is going to be able to give them some what of what society calls a normal life. They are going to be able to actually walk into the kitchen floor without fear that if they call they are going to fracture a hip,” said Lisa.
