Montgomery Police Investigating Crash that Killed 2-Year-Old Boy
Montgomery police are still investigating a crash that killed a 2-year-old boy early Sunday morning.
Police say at about 6:45 a.m., officers and fire medics responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 southbound between Chantilly Parkway and Wares Ferry Road.
Police say the crash involved a Nissan Versa and a tractor-trailer. Investigators say the passenger in the Nissan, Elijah Baird, 2, of Georgia, was killed. The Nissan’s driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. There were no injuries in the commercial vehicle.
Police say their investigation indicates the Nissan was traveling south on I-85 when it left the roadway and struck the tractor-trailer, which was disabled and parked off the right shoulder of the roadway.
