Officials with Montgomery Public Schools have asked us to warn you of an unauthorized raffle that they’re calling a scam.

A spokesperson says people claiming to represent Dalraida Elementary School and its PTA have been selling $2 raffle tickets for a chance to win $25. But the school system says neither the school nor the PTA is aware of this unauthorized raffle. They say it has not been endorsed by the school or the district.

The school system is encouraging Dalraida parents and the community not to purchase these tickets. The School Security Office has notified the Montgomery Police Department and is working with them, according to the school system. Anyone who has purchased a raffle ticket should not return it to the school. They should contact Montgomery police if they wish to pursue theft of property by deception charge, according to the school system spokesperson.
