Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is also remembered by young people as a revered justice that changed the way justices interact with lawyers in the courtroom.
Years of studying cases, Months to prepare for arguments, and only seconds to respond to tough questions. That’s what Mock trial students of the Jones School of law at Faulkner University do every day. Many had the opportunity to read the writings of Supreme court Justice Antonin Scalia. Even though Justice Scalia is gone, students say his legacy lives on through the next generation of attorneys.
“He was a Supreme Court Justice, but he had such an unwavering commitment to what he believed to be right and to what his duty was to uphold the constitution,” said Haley Steelman, law student at Faulkner University.
