Montgomery Academy Girl’s Basketball Advances To The Final Four
The Lady Eagles from Montgomery Academy beat Greensboro 49-44 to advance to Birmingham
MONTGOMERY, AL — The Eagles are soaring to Birmingham after the Montgomery Academy girl’s basketball team got the 49-44 victory over Greensboro.
The win gives Montgomery Academy the 3A Girl’s Central Regional Championship and a trip to the final four.
Kayla White and Caroline Kirkham led the way for the Eagles with 15 and 13 points respectively. White added 11 rebounds and 8 steals. Jade Brooks also had 14 points and 5 steals.
The Eagles had a 21-17 lead at halftime thanks to 10 points from White. However, Greensboro would work their way back to tie the game at one point, and go into the fourth period down three.
A 14-5 run by Montgomery Academy in the 4th period sealed the deal.
Greensboro’s Elexis Evans had a huge game and almost led a comeback. She scored 26 points with 8 blocks and 6 rebounds. Moesha Chandler had 13 points.
Montgomery Academy will play in the 3A semi-final game on Tuesday, March 1st at noon against Brindlee Mountain.
