In the last hours to appeal to voters, Presidential Candidate Dr. Ben Carson stopped at AUM for a closed event with about 250 students.
Problems like race relations, healthcare and the cost of education were all questions in the open forum with the presidential hopeful.
AUM students met face to face with Carson. The nearly two hour event didn’t end until the last selfie was taken. This event was hosted by AUM’s Economic and Political Science Club and organized by the Vote America Now. Carson addressed everything from the recent Montgomery officer involved shooting, to creating a flat tax rate.
In an exclusive one-on-one interview with the Alabama News Network, Dr. Ben Carson says despite taking an early lead and now falling behind, his fight is not over.
When asked if he would have changed anything Carson said, “No, nothing’s changed about me. What changed was when I was much more threatening a lot of the establishment and the media said ‘oh my god we have to get this guy out of here. But, I didn’t go away I am still here and I think we will start creeping up as people take a closer look.”
If Carson is not able to pull ahead of the front runners, he says he will support the nominee.
