They serve on the front lines to protect our freedoms. Now one non-profit is doing it’s part to recognize veterans. The American Red Cross and a number of other organizations held their annual Heroes breakfast.

Ten members of the military, ranging from World War Two, to Operation Desert Storm were honored. Alabama News Network’s Olivia Deas was the Emcee for the event, while Lieutenant General Steven Kwast served as the keynote speaker. Grover Henry is also one of those honored, he brought his three year old son Christian to the breakfast.

“You hope the legacy continues on. That we install those gifts inside of him, and push him forward so that he’ll do the same thing,” said Henry.

This is the second year of the breakfast in Montgomery. There’s another breakfast that’s held in Birmingham.
