Lanier courts Barlow as next Poets’ Head Coach
MONTGOMERY, Ala (AlabamaNews.Net) — Multiple sources suggest former Alabama State University Head Football Coach Reggie Barlow will soon be named the next coach at his high school alma mater, Montgomery’s Sidney Lanier High School, possibly as early as this evening.
Barlow, a former Alabama State standout who later coached for 8 seasons before his abrupt firing in 2014, has previously been quoted that he would accept the Lanier job, if offered.
We’re told Barlow’s hiring hinges upon a Montgomery Public School Board meeting, set for late Tuesday afternoon.
The former Jacksonville Jaguar receiver had previously been linked to the same post at Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia.
