SuspectsJames Walker’s surveillance video shows four unknown males getting out of a small vehicle. The suspects search a Jeep Wrangler and Honda Accord. One of the subjects appeared to be branding a handgun.

“I had a $300 pair of sunglasses in my car and they didn’t take those, so my suspicions are they were looking for other things like money, weapons, and things like that,” said Walker.

Prattville Police responded to multiple calls for service that night because of vehicle break-ins as the thieves moved up the street and to other neighborhoods.

“I would say 90 percent of the car break-ins in the residential area are unlocked cars. What they are doing, they are just going from car to car checking,”  said Capt. Hassell.

Capt. Hassell says the thieves seem to be from outside the area. “During the rash of car break ins on a couple of occasions we have had some vehicles that were stolen only because they left the keys in the car, and those vehicles are being recovered in Montgomery. So based on that, we are assuming the suspects are coming from Montgomery.”

Capt. Hassell says you want to make sure you lock your doors and do not have anything valuable sitting in there. If you have any information about these car break-ins, call Crimestoppers at 215-STOP.
