The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will receive some much needed upgrades.
County Commissioners approved a measure that would provide resources to make improvements to the building. The department will see some big changes in the coming months, especially to it’s dispatch office. The dispatch center will double in size and also get newer equipment.
Sheriff Cunningham says the improvements will cost about $350,000. That’s not the only change. Deputies will also benefit. Under the departments current layout, Deputies have to come inside the building to get paper work or warrants. That’s also going to change.
The last time the sheriffs office saw upgrades was back in 1992. Construction will start in the next three to four months and Sheriff Cunningham says it should take nine months to complete.
