Annual Art On The Lake Event Kicks Off At Lake Martin

Hundreds of people are heading to Lake Martin this weekend, and some are benefiting a great cause.

The annual Art On The Lake event kicked off Saturday morning.

Artists from all over the southeast have artwork for sale.

20 percent of sales go to Children’s Harbor, which provides a free camp experience for seriously ill children in our area.

“Well I think is marvelous because it benefits children at the harbor which helps children with medical issues and it brings artists from all over,” said Janet Crawford who came out for the event.

“I make things out of old house wood reclaimed wood a lot of the wood comes from Selma and West Alabama so it’s been refurbished. We just make all sorts of artwork from coat racks two mirrors out of it and they love it,” said Allan Buchannon, a local artist.
