Troy Officials Participate MDA Fundraiser

Several community leaders across Troy went behind bars Tuesday for a good cause.

It was all part of the MDA Lock-Up fundraiser. Leaders spent time behind bars at Troy’s Hampton Inn raising money for people living with muscle diseases. The fundraising goal for each officials was $2,400, before they could bail themselves out. Coordinators say there are several reasons why this fundraiser is important.

“We are not funded by the federal government or any other fundraising agency so we depend directly on our communities to raise funds for families and children that live right there where they work, serve, and live” says Christi Crews.

The combined goal from the fundraiser was $37,000.
