Update: Escaped Inmate from Alex City Work Release Center Recaptured

Authorities say an escaped work-released inmate from the Alex City Work Release Center in Ashville has been captured.

Alabama Department of Corrections spokesman Bob Horton says 33-year-old Robert Alvin Hunt was recaptured Friday morning. Hunt escaped from the prison on Wednesday.

Investigators tracked down Hunt to a wooded area in Ashville where he surrendered.

Last year, Hunt received a 15-year sentence for manufacturing a controlled substance. He faces additional criminal charges for the escape.
