Union Springs Community Participate in Kids and Cops Day
The Union Springs Police Department invited the community to the city’s park for a day of fun.
It was part of the department’s kids and cops day. Organizations provided school supplies to children attending the event. East Central Mental Health was there to share their services with the community. Coordinators say the event is also a way to show positivity in the community after the recent officer-involved shootings.
“We just want everybody to know that in union springs even though people are having issues with police we don’t have that problem here,” says Union Springs Councilman Stan Cooks.
Several bikes were also donated by Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham for the event, that were part of a drawing for the kids to win.
