Preventing Child Hot Car Deaths
It’s one of the biggest fears for parents-to return to their car and finding their child suffering from a heat stroke.
There have been 18 hot car deaths involving children in the U.S this year. Doctors say in 10 minutes, the temperature in a car can rise 20 degrees.
That’s why it is important for parents to take proper precautions and reminders for their child’s safety.
“Put your purse or your briefcase or your cell phone or something that you always get before you leave the car back where the child is, so that you will be extra sure that you will not leave your child behind,” says Dr. Elizabeth Dawson of Charles Henderson Health Center.
Doctors say if you see a car with a child inside alone, call 911 immediately.
