Elmore County Deputies Investigating Murder-Suicide

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin has confirmed to Alabama News Network that his deputies are investigating a murder-suicide.

Franklin says it happened around 7:00 this morning in the 7000 block of Upper River Road, just outside of Tallassee. He says an older man shot his wife in the head then turned the gun on himself.  They were getting ready for a doctor’s appointment.

Sheriff Franklin says two other people were at the home at the time, but didn’t see the incident and weren’t hurt.  Franklin says they are not sure what lead to the shooting at this time.
