Roland Cooper State Park in Camden Set to Reopen
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A state park in Camden is set to reopen to the public this fall — after being closed for nearly a year.
Roland Cooper State Park was one of five state parks in West Alabama shutdown by the state last year due to budget cuts.
State Park officials say Recreation Resource Management has been selected to come in and manage the property.
“We’re very excited about this and just looking to the future,” said Central District Supervisor Kelly Ezell.
“So glad its opening back up for both the state of Alabama and for the area here, for Camden and Wilcox County.”
Officials say they expect the park to be back open by Labor Day.
