Wild Game State Finals Cook Off
Teams from across the state face off in wild game cook-off in Millbrook.
The teams were part of the state finals for the Alabama Wildlife Federation’s Wild Game Cook Off
Dishes included elk, duck, and quail. Judges taste each of the dishes blind folded. The first place winner receives $1,000, $500 for for second place and $250 for third place.
Coordinators say the event is a great time to give some people something new to taste…
“It helps introduce people to wild game and a lot of people out there that may not have tried wild game and to let them know that wild game is good table fare and that the harvest of wild game is necessary,” says coordinator Tommy Tidwell.
Money raised from the federation’s annual cook-off benefits their educational programs for the youth.
