Troy University Implements Gender Neutral Restrooms
Troy University makes efforts to change all single-restrooms on campus to gender neutral restrooms.
The university has implemented 20 gender neutral restrooms on campus. University officials say there are no plans to add more, unless new buildings are built. The move comes after the Obama Administration ordered all public schools in the U.S to allow students to use any restroom they choose. Some students say they have no problems with the change. They think it’s a positive move by the university.
“It doesn’t put anyone in danger and it gives the people that need that privacy, it gives them that privacy and doesn’t put them in compromising situations,” says Caroline Courtson.
Alabama is one of 13 states challenging the Obama Administrations restroom order to allow students to use any restroom they identify with.
