Preview of the final days of the special session
With the Senate and House of Representatives in recess until September 6th, many are wondering what’s next in the last three days of the special session.
After days of contentious debate, the lottery bill died in the Senate Friday. Senators voted 23-7 to not accept the changes made to the bill by the House of Representatives.
Political Analyst Steve Flowers is unsure of how productive the final days of the special session will be.
“I don’t think they’ll come to a resolution,” he said, “on that (BP money) because what it boils down to is the House version gives $190 million of BP money specifically for the coastal counties of Baldwin and Mobile and obviously those legislators in that area have been fighting hard for that.
