Raising Awareness for Childhood Cancer

It’s estimated that thousands of children will be diagnosed with childhood cancer in the U.S every year.

That’s why people in Troy are raising awareness. This month residents and businesses are encouraged to buy and display gold ribbons in support of research for the disease. The money raised will benefit the Hadley May Foundation in memory of a little girl that lost her battle with cancer 10 years ago. Marla Johnson says it’s important for people to show support.

“How many of those people are going to say it doesn’t effect me. It’s not going to happen to me. So, we need people to know what’s going on.”
