Hotel to be built in downtown Montgomery
City leaders announced that a new hotel will be built in downtown Montgomery Wednesday. The hotel will be built at the current site of the Bishop Parker building near Riverwalk Stadium.
The development is estimated to cost $14 million dollars and will bring over forty full and part time jobs to the River Region.
The Springhill Suites by Mariott will have 103 guest rooms.
Developers say this hotel will be different from others in Montgomery.
“This hotel will not be your typical hotel room,” explained John Tampa, “it will be more of an experience that will take you back in the past and the golden age of this building.”
The project should begin at the end of the year. It is expected to open in spring 2018.
