Troy’s Fishing and Boating Expo
Over 100 6th graders from Troy Elementary School spent the day on the lake.
It was all part of the Troy’s Fishing and Boating Expo at the Pike County Lake. School officials and volunteers were there teach kids everything they needed to know about reeling in fish, cleaning and cooking fish properly and boating safety. Officials say it was also a chance for students to learn everything that Pike County Lake has to offer. Students attending say the trip was not only fun but rewarding.
“It’s really fun. I feel like it’s really a good learning thing for everybody to learn how to do this. It’s a life skill.”
The expo was made possible by a $1400 grant from the Troy City School’s Education Foundation.
