MPD warns against clown costumes this Halloween
Kids in the River Region are excited that Halloween is right around the corner. Many families took to the streets of downtown Prattville Thursday for the annual Candy Walk.
The Montgomery Police Department is warning against clown costumes this year.
Clown threats have surfaced across the country in recent weeks. One clown Facebook page threatened middle schools in Montgomery last month.
Lt. Regina Duckett says they are taking these incidents very seriously.
“If you choose to dress like a creepy clown and you cause any fear or panic in your neighborhood or compromise anybody’s safety just understand that you will be subject to arrest,” she explained.
Local parents say they will be keeping a close eye on their children this Halloween.
“That’s the reason we’ll stay with our selective neighborhoods and we’ll be near people that we know just in case anything happens,” shared Samantha Lee.
