Teen Charged with Sexual Contact of Children Under 12

annacrossalabama.jpgNorth Alabama school officials are trying to determine whether a student can stay in the school system after he was accused of sexually abusing young children.

Al.com reports that 18-year-old Anthony E. Proctor, of Somerville, was arrested Friday and accused of having sexual contact with a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old.

Proctor is a senior at Albert P. Brewer High School in Morgan County. Morgan County Superintendent Bill Hopkins Jr. says officials are still waiting on some details before making any decisions regarding Proctor’s status at the school.

Proctor is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12. Each charge is punishable by two to 20 years in prison. It is unclear whether Proctor has an attorney.
