Christians look ahead to Presidential Election

WATERLOO, IA - SEPTEMBER 27: Voting booths are set up for early voting at the Black Hawk County Courthouse on September 27, 2012 in Waterloo, Iowa. Early voting starts today in Iowa where in the 2008 election 36 percent of voters cast an early ballot. “I’m not looking forward to what we’re in for for the next four years regardless of who gets elected,” said Christian Voter Ed Sims. “I have in mind who I’m going to vote for, but I’m not sure if they represent the same things I do. Out of all these candidates, this is the best two we could come up with? That’s kind of scary, if that’s the best two we’ve got.”

“I believe that our nation has already so withdrawn from spirituality, as much as Christians try to bring spirituality into our nation,” added voter Alaina Norman. “I believe that this is just going to make it worse. They’re just, Christians are… The Christianity is going to take a backseat to everything else in the United States.”

“It’s gotten to be all about junk and who’s done the worst instead of who’s done the best and what they want to do for us, and they way feel about Christianity and our values,” added her husband, Ben Norman.

These Christian voters believe the only way to steer the country back in a Godly direction is to look to leaders outside of the political realm.

“I think it’s more up to us, than it is… To look for the President for our values,” added Ben. “Because it’s definitely not the way to go for now, especially. At least the next four years, we’ve got to look to other people for our values, and what we should do and how we should act.”

The election is this Tuesday, November 8. The polls open at 7 AM and close at 7 PM, you can go online to the Secretary of State’s website to look up the nearing polling place.
