No Montgomery Marathon in 2017

There will not be a Montgomery Marathon in 2017.  Instead, race officials are focusing solely on the 5k and half marathon.

“The support that we were getting from outside is not what we were hoping it would be,” explained Race Director Hardy Sellers.

He says there wasn’t a big enough draw in the first two years of the marathon, but he is hopeful it will return one day.

“I want to have a marathon when the people demand a marathon, when they go hey it is time,” he shared, “it shouldn’t be something that we push down, it should be something that the people push up.”
