Whether you’re planning to fly the friendly skies or take to the roads this Thanksgiving… You are not alone.
AAA estimates more than 48 million people will be traveling.
And thanks to the low gas prices, more than 43 million will be hitting the road.
We found some travelers in Montgomery already on their way.

“The gas is cheaper here than in Atlanta where I’m traveling from and I’m happy to stop here,” said Cedrick traveling from Atlanta to Louisiana.

And some are learning the hard way that many travelers have the same idea.

“Heavy traffic. Heavy traffic… Slow. Things are slow,” said Denise Jackson from Destin.

If you are flying this Thanksgiving…
The good news is, TSA says its prepared.

“I actually think we are ready for holiday travelers this year,” said Peter Neffenger, TSA Administrator.

But are you prepared?
If you are one of the three million people flying, experts advise you to arrive early.
Get to the airport roughly two hours before your flight.
And if you have to park, give yourself even more time.
As for the drivers we talked to, they have their own tips for staying safe out there on the road.

“Drive carefully, make sure you check your tires and the standard stuff you need to do for travel. Don’t be in a rush, take your time,” said Cedrick.

“I tell people to look out for people who are on their phones. I am constantly amazed at people that are texting and they are not paying attention to their surroundings,” said Cid Chavez.
