Family Fights for Deceased Teen’s Facebook Page

The family of Kacy Harris has made a petition for to get Facebook to return their access to their deceased love one’s account.  Harris died in a car crash in June.  The 19-year-old was driving when a tree fell on her car; her family calls it a “freak accident.”

Her mother and sister say that her Facebook was one way the remembered her and loved being able to go back through her old messages and posts.  That all changed though when they say a stranger messaged them and said he requested that Facebook memorialize Kacy’s account.  That meant they lost access to the private messages and postings.

They’re petition is now close to 400 signatures and they hope Facebook responds.
