Rain Finally Back In The Forecast!
Monday will be the first day of a much more active weather pattern for the River Region. A cold front to the west will move towards the area. Out ahead of the front, we will finally have the Gulf return flow needed for significant rainfall. This will also provide the chance for some showers across the River Region from Monday afternoon through the evening.
A trough, or initiating boundary, will move east out ahead of the cold front. Along this boundary, an area of rainfall will move into the River Region Monday night through early Tuesday. Thunderstorms will be along the boundary as well, but should be in a weakening mode as they move into the River Region. The boundary will stall out over the area on Monday, and there may be persistent rainfall during the morning hours on Tuesday. Another round of rain moves through later in the day on Tuesday.
Rainfall and thunderstorms will continue through Wednesday. Some of these storms could reach severe limits. A cold front clears the area Wednesday night, bringing an end to the rainfall. Drier and cooler weather is expected behind the front. High temperatures for Thursday and Friday will only be in the upper 50s to around 60. There will be another chance for rain next Saturday and possibly Sunday.
