EMA Officials Prepare for Chance of Severe Weather

With the threat of possible severe weather approaching parts of the River Region, EMA officials are on standby in case things take a turn for the worse.

“At EMA we are constantly monitoring all of the weather systems and going through different venues just like your meteorologists,” explained EMA Director Christina Thornton.

Thornton says the threat of storms hitting overnight presents a different challenge.

“Anytime that something happens overnight there’s always that unexpected risk because of people sleeping,” she explained, “turn you weather radios on, make sure they’re on.”
