Arrest Made In Brutal Weekend Tallassee Murder

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin tells us that 18-year-old Malik Johnson has been arrested in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Stephvon Adams.

Sheriff Franklin says the men were in a car at the intersection of New Quarters Road and Taylor Road in Tallassee Saturday night.

Franklin says the two men got into a heated argument over money and drugs. Johnson pulled out a gun and shot Adams multiple times. Adams then tried to flee the scene. That’s when Johnson got into the driver’s seat and ran over Adams several times, killing him.

Johnson is currently in the Elmore County Jail. He is set to have his first court appearance Monday. He is being charged with murder and robbery.

Those charges could be upgraded to capital murder.
