Victim in Cairnbrook Drive Shooting Identified

The Montgomery Police Department has initiated a homicide investigation following the Monday morning shooting death of Jaylen Henderson, 18, of Montgomery.

On Monday, Jan. 30, at about 8:20 a.m. MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 1800 block of Cairnbrook Drive after receiving a report of a subject shot. There, they located the victim, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD initially began conducting a death investigation. In the course of that investigation, MPD determined that Henderson died as the result of a homicide. The homicide investigation is continuing as MPD works to determine the circumstances of this fatal shooting.

Evangel, Trinity and Eastwood schools were placed on lock down out of caution. The schools have since been taken off lock down.

At this point in the investigation, no additional information is available for release. Police ask individuals with knowledge of this shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 625-4000, or the Montgomery Police Department at 652-2831.
