Troy University Officials Address Immigration Ban
President’s Trump’s immigration order has many immigrants already in the U.S wondering what’s next.
Troy University officials addressed the president’s order in a press conference Tuesday. University officials say they understand the president’s desire for national security. But also will not let their students get through this issue alone. They are asking students that are already here in the United States, not to leave until the problem is resolved and also reassure their families they are safe.
“I would want them first and foremost to tell their parents, reassure their parents that they have family at Troy University-that we’re going to stand with them and we’re going to do everything that we can,” says Troy University Chancellor Jack Hawkins.
20 students in Iraq and Iran have recently applied to the university. It’s not known, whether those students will be delayed in coming to the United States.
