Comedian and Radio Host Rickey Smiley Kicks Off Troy University’s Leadership Conference
Troy University kicked off their 16th Annual Leadership Conference Friday night.
Comedian and radio host Rickey Smiley was the keynote speaker. Carver High School’s choir entertained the crowd. This year’s theme is, “Overcoming the Crisis in Education: Reconnecting, Relevance, and Results.” Smiley says he’s honored to speak at the conference. and plans to leave a lasting impact on students.
“I never really pass up a opportunity when I get an opportunity to talk to to young people about black history and about doing great things and hang good careers, and making thing happen,” says Smiley.
Troy’s Leadership Conference continues Saturday with break out sessions for students and adults. Followed by Bishop James Davis closing the conference as the speaker.
