New Housing Option to Serve Troy

A new housing housing option towers over Troy.

District on Dozier was built with university students in mind but anyone is welcome to rent by the room. The new upscale living option has 150 new units bringing in over 300 bedrooms. While it does help with housing pains for the university, some realtors are concerned that there are not enough options for families that desire housing in the area.

‘The prices are inflated. A student will rent a bedroom for $500. A family really working in Troy or Pike County with a average income can’t afford $1,500 for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house,” says Lucille Blair of Action Realty.

District on Dozier is set to open 2 of its 6 buildings in May.
