Montgomery Man in Wheelchair Fatally Struck by SUV

On Wednesday, February 15, at about 4:30 p.m., Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to Southlawn Drive at Greensboro Drive in reference to an adult male in a wheelchair being struck by a motor vehicle.

The victim, Gerald Goodwin, 55, of Montgomery was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life- threatening injuries.

At Baptist Medical Center South, his injuries were determined to be life-threatening, and the victim was routed to UAB via helicopter. He was pronounced deceased en route.
