Community Remembers Greg Gunn On Anniversary Of His Death

Saturday marks 1 year since Greg Gunn was killed by Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Smith just a few feet away from his home.

A vigil was held for Gunn in front of that home Saturday afternoon.

Family and friends gathered to honor his memory and demand justice.

Officer Smith was indicted for the murder last year.

Family members and close friends say Gunn’s death affected the whole community.

“And we’re here today to let the family know that the community stand with them on their lost. Greg Gunn was an individual that was, his killing was unjustifiable and so we stand today in solidarity to let the family know that he didn’t die in vain,” said William Boyd, the event organizer.

Officer smith is still awaiting trial.

Just this past week, prosecutors argued that Smith’s case should not be moved from Montgomery.
